Excerpt from Air Pilot Manual of the Pacific Islands

Dublin Core

Title

Excerpt from Air Pilot Manual of the Pacific Islands

Description

This book was published throughout World War 2, and gave pilots general overviews of friendly island facilities throughout the Pacific, and instructions for landing on them.

Unfortunately the scan is lower quality, but the text and images are still legible. While not extensive, it does offer insight into which facilities were operational on Palmyra by 1944, and gives interesting details like there being 7 fueling pits, housing for 1,196 people, and the ability to feed 1,545 people each meal.
