Title
Collection of Letters from Alta Norton
Description
Alta Norton was a member of the CAA colony who occupied Palmyra from 1948 to 1949. One of her sons, George, was the first (and only) graduate of the short lived school program created during the time of the colony. He also maintained a large collection of documents and photographs, which were generously donated to our archive.
This collection of letters from 1948 to 1949 were written from Alta to her grandmother (with a few exceptions). They offer a uniquely personal look into the largest civilian group to ever live on Palmyra. We're honored to be able to share them with our visitors.
